The absolute best way to paint a door is with real paint through a real paint sprayer but i know this is hard for a diy er to do. Whereas painting with a brush can result in drips and brush marks spray paint can give you a near perfect look. I usually take doors off stand vertically in a zigzag pattern screw a 2x2 or 2x4 or what ever scrap piece s across top of all doors to stabilize. I worry about tops and bottoms on exterior doors.
