If your cat won t stop scratching the first thing we might think of is a skin problem. The neck is usually a very sensitive region which in case of any bacterial yeast or allergen infection could result to a scratching scab. The result may be scabs although it is possible for scabs to form without scratching in acute cases. Because cats are excellent groomers they may actually remove all traces of fleas.

Common explanations include allergies parasites fungal or bacterial infection and dry skin. The signs most often noticed by owners are itching excessive grooming hair loss and scabs. This can cause sharp claws to break a cat s thin skin. If you notice one or two small scabs on your cat it is likely due to a bite or sting. If we had the dexterity of most cats we d be scratching just as much. However as with any behavior when it becomes excessive it signals a problem.
